WE ARE NOT LIKE HIM!

No doubt, everyone in the country and half way around the world has heard about the shooting in Connecticut that happened two days ago. I was at work when it happened and my entire office stopped for a good ten minutes to watch the news report about it. None of us really knew what to think or what to do with ourselves for the rest of the day. My mind was in almost a state of shock when I heard that it had happened. The first expectation I had was that it was some high school shooting, which would have been bad enough, but then I heard that it was in an elementary school and my heart sank even farther. Know this right now, I never will in this entry name that disgusting excuse of a human that did it in this blog. As far as I'm concerned, his name should be erased from history and forgotten.

My outrage has been rekindled just a few minutes ago while I was scrolling through Facebook. I expected there to be continuing reports about it over the coming days, the media trying to drag it out to boost their ratings for as long as they can. This... This is just sickening to me and over the line for even the media.

One of the main points the media is using against the shooter is that he was a goth... There is not enough outrage available to me within the range of any human language to express how much this fucking sickens me! That fucking scumbag is not and never has been one of us if he is able to do something as heinous as this! I will not be grouped in with him and be subjected to even more scrutiny and prejudice all because you assholes decided that part of the reason why he was able to do something like this was because he was a "goth loner"! I'm tired of being everyone's "go to suspect group" all because people don't take the fucking time to get to know any of us or even try to understand us! To every single one of you media hags posting and pumping this story up because he is a supposed "goth" all I can say is FUCK YOU! Go and use someone else as your fucking scapegoat for once!

Plans for Summer

So my boyfriend and I have been talking recently about something and we've finally come to a decision on what it is we're going to do over the summer...

So as some of you may know, Comic-Con is basically the biggest convention for nerds in the world. They literally have anything and everything that has to do with comic books, super heroes, villains, and everything in-between. It's a nerd's paradise to put it in the most basic of terms. It's gotten so big, they've gotten into the habit of hosting a live video feed from the convention to air on television, so all those poor suckers who couldn't make it all the way across the country to be there can watch and weep over how awesome it is and how they aren't there to see it. This past year they featured guests like George R.R. Martin to talk up the Game of Thrones series and Robert Downey Jr. to pump up the fans for the Avengers and Iron Man 3 movies. Well this year I, my little gothlings, will be attending! I am so excited, I can't even begin to tell you! I have my whole costume planned out and with any luck I'll be able to have it completed and ready to go a couple months before we leave. And no, I'm not going to tell you what I'll be cosplaying as either. You're just going to have to wait and wonder until I get it put together and put up some pictures before we leave. I guess I could give you a hint though. I'll be going as a character from my favorite comic...

And I'm now realizing that July is going to be a very, very busy month for me. Think about it: over the 4th of July weekend there's Anthrocon, mid-July is Comic-Con, and at the end of the month will mostly likely be Rockstar Metal Mayhem. Phew, I'm going to be worn out by the time August comes around! Wish me luck in affording all this!

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Graphic Novel

So, not only has The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo become a bestseller, have two separate versions of the movie for both Swedish and American audiences, but it now has its own graphic novel that I just picked up last night. I'm not very far into yet since I was out clubbing, which I haven't done in a while, but so far all I can really say about it is that it's decent. The story-line seems a little more convoluted than it was in either of the movies and they really only hint at things they would be better off just outright taking another page to describe the full situation. Yet again I'm only a few pages into it so I'll leave the remainder of my decision once I'm actually finished with the whole things, which honestly probably won't take me very long since I'm a fast reader as it is. I will say that I love the style that it's all drawn in. It looks gritty and dark just how the book played out in my head while I was reading it. Now I just have to wonder if they're going to make books for the rest of the series...

Song of the Day: "Creepy Crawler" by Zombie Girl

For some reason the music player on my phone seems to love this song almost as much as I do, so I figured why not share this awesome track with my little gothlings? Enjoy!

P.S. For those who got creeped out by The Ring, I apologize ahead of time...

What can Make Foamy Puke?

Landscapes apparently. And no, I am not kidding about that at all. This latest episode is all about Foamy's hatred for landscapes. And while I will admit that I prefer landscape photography, I think there are other forms of artwork that deserve his wrath a lot more than painted landscapes... Like the people who can only do anything artistic via a computer. People, I draw my creative thoughts with a pencil, paints, a canvas, or a piece of paper. At least draw the goddamn base of the picture or something! I appreciate digital artwork if I know the artist actually hand drew the base and just used a program to fill in the color rather than someone who manipulates everything with Paint or something like it! Ugh...
