Band Spotlight: Eisbrecher

I figured since I already did a song of the day where Eisbrecher won, it was about time to introduce them properly on my blog. The band started out with only the singer Alexx and their guitarist/programmer Noel Pix back in 2003. Now they've added on their own second guitarist, bassist, and drummer for the band and they are still rocking it out. They recently released their fifth album "Die Holle muss warten" and is is an awesome CD! The main single on this is Verrukt which you should definitely check out... 

Now, I've been hooked on these guys since they released their self-titled album and the only CD of their I've ever been disappointed in was Sunde. Not their best work but its still worth the buy if you're looking for a kick-ass German band to add to your collection. I can never get enough of these guys, they're an awesome mix of rock, techno, and metal. This really isn't a huge surprise considering before he started Eisbrecher, Alexx was the singer for the band Megaherz. As of yet, they haven't done any performances here in the U.S., but hopefully they'll be able to soon because I would do just about anything to see Alexx sing in person <3 If you want more info, head on over to their official site and you can pick up the albums and other cool merch.

The Devil's Carnival

For those of you who have a deep and abiding love for Terrance Zdunich, Darren Lynn Bousman, or are just fans of Repo! The Genetic Opera, do I have some awesome news for you! Not only are Zdunich and Bousman teaming up once more to bring us one of their amazing ghastly stories for us all to enjoy, but some of the stars from Repo! are joining in for more fun! This newest piece is entitled The Devil's Carnival and it is not one to be missed from the brief preview I've seen of it so far.

Now this isn't going to be your traditional theatrical release, instead they're following the release in true Rocky Horror Picture Show style and making a tour all over the U.S. to premiere the movie! Yet another random song of the day that popped into my head while I was at work today. I'm fortunate enough to work somewhere that doesn't care what I look like and lets us do pretty much whatever we want so long as we get our work done. And one of those things for me today was listening to my mp3 player. Not sure why this one popped into my head in particular but the second I started listening to it I remembered why it was one of my favorite songs by Eisbrecher. Enjoy!

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo on DVD

Maybe I'm a little slow on the uptake here lately but you can't really blame me when I'm not usually the T.V. watching type. Thus I tend to miss out on important commercials... like the one for the release of David Fincher's Girl With the Dragon Tattoo! Yup, it's finally coming to DVD my darlings! And I have to admit, this is one of the few movies I've seen that I was literally waiting impatiently for it to be released on DVD. Normally I see it in theaters a couple times and am perfectly content to wait until it's DVD format comes out to see it again. Oh, not this time. This time I've actually been wondering when it would be released for the past four or five months. Yeah, I'm that desperate to own a movie I wasn't even sure I'd enjoy let alone watch when it first was green-lighted.
But not only that, when I took a trip to one of my old work stomping grounds (Target) I happened upon a complete trilogy box set for the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo films while searching around for Spirited Away. And, as if having all three films in one box set wasn't enough, it included over two hours of scenes that were never released to the U.S. audiences! If it hadn't been for the fact that I need to get my car worked on in the near future, wanting a new tat, having to go grocery shopping, and already owning the first movie, I would've thought nothing of snapping it up. But the $40.00 price tag kind of squashed my hopes on that one. Oh well, next paycheck I'll be all over that and Fincher's version! But if you absolutely need to have that trilogy right now and have the funds to spend, head over to Target and snap it up and let me know how it is!

Why Goths Want to be Antisocial Part 4

No, I'm not talking about the people who have the occasional dumb blonde moment, because gods know I have way too many of them in the given week to judge anyone else too harshly. I'm talking about those absolute morons who have nothing better to do but troll around town the instant the sun starts to go down. And when I say troll, I literally mean troll. Case in point, I went to Eat N' Park with my guy after a night at the club because I'd forgotten to eat all day. As we're walking towards the door, a van full of these morons start making squawking noises out their window towards us. I look back and yell "Go home you fucking freaks," but, alas, to no avail. Now that I think about it, I should have gone up to the car and bitten their throats, that would have gotten them to shut up. But yeah, people like this... I don't think there's a single person on the planet who hasn't run into someone like that unless they were the one being the total jackass. Guess what, morons? You're not being funny, you're just revealing that you're IQ points are lucky to reach beyond the grasp of 50. It's not entertaining and you should all be chemically castrated to prevent spreading your stupidity into another generation of jackasses just like you. Can you tell this irritates me beyond all reason?

Game of Thrones Season 1 on DVD

I know, I'm a day late. I was too busy last night going through my new Game of Thrones DVDs to remember to post about it. If you haven't heard about it, the first season of Game of Thrones is now out for you to enjoy any time you like! The box set you see over there is the one I chose, showing the Direwolf sigil of House Stark, or you can choose one that's all black and shows a red three-headed dragon of House Targaryen. And here's the best part... If you get it from Best Buy, it's only $35.00! Yeah! You get an entire season of and HBO premiere series for less that forty bucks! There's no way you can get any better than that! Not to mention these DVDs only have to keep you occupied for another month before the second season releases on HBO. Perfect timing on their part for sure! Happy viewing everyone!
